Title:  Caring for One Another

This piece was inspired by Gauguin’s painting of two sisters and represents Africa’s child-headed households. With care and support from their communities, many of these children are able to stay with their siblings, retain their family homes and belongings, and attend school on their way to a better life.

Unfortunately there are more orphaned children than homes able to take them in, and when sent away to orphanages these children lose their properties to other relatives, leaving them homeless once they reach adulthood.
