Title: One Wisdom at a Time
Recently, I have met several Canadian women who have taken on projects to teach new skills to women in Africa. Some taught sewing while others were involved in literacy programs. I am inspired by the acts of these women helping women.
The baobab tree, in this piece, seems to strike a protective pose as it showers its fruit, in the form of traditional Adinkra symbols, on the women gathered in its shelter.
The symbols have meanings such as, commitment, safety, wisdom, creativity, love, faithfulness, the feminine essence of life, abundance, transformation and the wisdom of learning from the past.
